“Analyzing Armenia’s security architecture” panel discussion

On September 18, Ms. Armine Margaryan, President of the WGSA, moderated the “Analyzing Armenia’s security architecture” panel discussion held within the framework of Global Armenian Summit 2024.
The speakers of the session were:

🔹Andranik Kocharyan, Elected Chairman of the Standing Committee on Defense and Security of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia
🔹Anna Ohanyan, Richard B. Finnegan Distinguished Professor of International Relations at Stonehill College and Carnegie Endowment for International Peace
🔹Nerses Kopalyan, Nevada University lecturer
🔹Rouben Galichian, Cartographer, Honorary Doctor of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia
At the outset, the WGSA President addressed a wide array of issues regarding the RA security architecture. During an active exchange of thoughts, the speakers presented their professional opinions on the external and internal challenges and how the latter are to be resolved.
The combination of the approaches and interpretations from the representatives of executive, legislative, scientific and civil society circles on the issues Armenia faces was an excellent opportunity to get a comprehensive picture of the current political realities and possible developments of those in future.
Ms. Margaryan moderated the second part of the session in Q&A format, during which the attendees addressed dozens of questions to the speakers.
