WGSA Launchеs Nеw Research Project on Integrating the WPS Agenda into Armenia’s Defense Reform

The Women & Global Security Architecture (WGSA) is pleased to announce the launch of a new research project titled “From Policy to Practice: Integrating the Women, Peace and Security Agenda into Armenia’s Defense Reforms: Oversight, Accountability and Effective Security.”

This research initiative aims to:

•assess how WPS principles are being incorporated into Armenia’s ongoing defense reforms,

•evaluate the effectiveness of existing oversight and accountability mechanisms, and

•provide practical, evidence-based policy recommendations to support a more inclusive, professional, and resilient defence architecture.

The project is implemented with the financial support of the NATO Liaison Office in Georgia (accredited to Armenia).

The research will be published in Armenian and English and will be available in mid-February 2026.

Through this initiative, WGSA continues its mission to strengthen democratic governance of the security sector, advance gender-responsive reforms, and promote meaningful participation of women in Armenia’s defence and security institutions.
