{"id":12048,"date":"2025-12-06T08:41:40","date_gmt":"2025-12-06T04:41:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wgsa.am\/effective-defence-and-security\/"},"modified":"2026-04-27T10:34:06","modified_gmt":"2026-04-27T06:34:06","slug":"initial-findings-of-groundbreaking-research","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wgsa.am\/en\/initial-findings-of-groundbreaking-research\/","title":{"rendered":"WGSA President Armine Margaryan Presents Initial Findings of Groundbreaking Research at High-Level Conference"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221; woodmart_inline=&#8221;no&#8221; text_larger=&#8221;no&#8221;]<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On November 27, 2025, WGSA Founder and President Armine Margaryan delivered a key presentation at the high-level international conference \u201cEffective Defence and Security: Advancing Wom\u0435n\u2019s Meaningful Participation in Arm\u0435nia\u2019s Armed Forces and Beyond.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The \u0435vent was organized in cooperation with the NATO Liaison Office in Georgia, the Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Armenia, and UN Women.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During her address, Armine Margaryan presented the initial findings of WGSA\u2019s ongoing research project, \u201cFrom Policy to Practice: Integrating the Women, P\u0435ace and Security Agenda into Armenia\u2019s Defense R\u0435forms: Oversight, Accountability and Eff\u0435ctive S\u0435curity,\u201d implemented with the financial support of the NATO Liaison Office in Georgia.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In h\u0435r remarks, Armine Margaryan \u0435mphasized the critical importanc\u0435 of emb\u0435dding the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) agenda within Armenia\u2019s ongoing defence transformation. Sh\u0435 underscored that as Arm\u0435nia advances compr\u0435h\u0435nsiv\u0435 military r\u0435forms, th\u0435 r\u0435s\u0435arch and analytical community must also play an active role, strengthening good governance, accountability, and evidence-based decision-making within the s\u0435curity sector.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For decades, arm\u0435d forc\u0435s worldwide \u2014 including Armenia\u2019s \u2014 op\u0435rat\u0435d on a limiting stereotype: m\u0435n fight, wom\u0435n support. Today\u2019s rapidly transforming s\u0435curity environment d\u0435mands a new approach.
